Moving on..

To anyone who may have been following or checking in on this blog, one, thank you and two I'm moving. I'll be concentrating on the Throwbacksmc blog. It's a conglomeration of myself and the crew I ride with. If you feel daring, check it out. That one should be updated far more often and way more interesting. Thanks again, hope to see you on the road.
Some random photos of my bike taken by others. Most of these are from the GV Roll in. So if you took any of these please stand-up, and thank you.

A cool photo taken by Sarah of Sarah D. Photography. She's very talented. Check her work out at www.sarahdphotography.com.

Site glass, mock up pipes.

Got the site glass welded in and some pipes mocked up. I'll get the sissybar finished and mounted, all tabs welded and shaped. Hoping to try a first start within a couple of weeks

Closer still

Sissybar tacked up, hope to get it into the shop (work) this weekend to TIG weld the tabs to the frame and then finish weld and mold the fender mounts. Gonna work on pipe designs this weekend as well.

There's light at the end of the tunnel.......

Sissy bar fabbed up, went pretty easy. Found some cool mounts that I used from Fastenal. Also, I can stop now, got the rear brake mount done and just need to fine tune the brakes but it's close, so close. Next up fab up some pipes, and work out the wiring and the final pieces. i.e. clutch cable, throttle cable and new chain and sprokets.

A little bit more.

Foot pegs worked out. Tank tunneled and mounted, rear fender cut and mounted down low. Working on a sissy bar and upper mounts. The sissy bar is super simple, but seems to fit the bike.

Progress, progress...

Got quite a bit done this weekend. Fabbed up mounts for the footpegs, got the tank bottom hammer formed and got the rear fender figured out. Needs to be finalized and mounted but getting really, really close.

A little progress...

So wheels are laced and trued. Handlebars have been cut down..blah, blah, blah. Here are updated photos..

Getting the rubber mounted on the wheels tomorrow, will have some after shots of the new wheels. Can't wait. With the new wheels, I can really get into the mock up of the bike.

Homebuilt to the hilt

A photo from my uncle reads as follows:

Early 1968'

Dave Schwerma?

on my 350 @ Freemont

The bike was built in his basement, using a plumbbob and the floor supports. The frame was joined using a gas torch and coathanger for filler. Apparently the rider/bike combo broke a track record, not sure which one but cool non-the-less.

Before......

Sorry everything is blocked together. I've just now had the chance to really sit down and add some posts. The wheels will get laced ( I hope) tonight. I've never done it but with the help of the world wide web I should be able to figure it out. More to follow.

Bits and pieces

Finished up a seat pan, the mounts for the foot pegs and played with a new handlebar design. Also, designed a licence plate/taillight mount. Came out pretty nice it'll look better chromed. Next up, lacing the wheels then I can really get a good mock up going.

Little by little

So, this is so far. Didn't get any real good chopping shots. Hard to chop and shoot at the same time. Seems to sit just right, I may shorten the bars a bit. Mabey by an inch or two.

Humble beginings

This is what I'm starting with. A cheap find, 100 bones and the coin to get the reg. in my name. Should be fun, the first real full chop I've attempted. I'll keep it updated as much as possible.
